Magnetic Island Race Week is the perfect fusion of exhilarating island racing and laid-back tropical charm, set against the stunning backdrop of North Queensland’s Magnetic Island. Hosted out of the beautiful Maggie Island Marina, this week-long regatta features six exciting races around the island’s turquoise bays and headlands, plus a fun-filled lay-day midweek for crews to relax, recharge, and enjoy the island. With over 70 yachts competing in sparkling blue waters often visited by dolphins, turtles, and migrating whales, it’s no surprise this event is a favourite on the Australian regatta calendar.
The racing delivers a mix of tight inshore legs and longer scenic courses, challenging crews to balance speed, tactics, and teamwork. Off the water, Magnetic Island turns on the hospitality, with social events, live music, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow sailors and enjoy the island’s easy-going vibe.
