7 Nights | 250nm | join the crew | from NZD$5,250
Set sail on an unforgettable 7-night sailing adventure through the iconic waters of Queen Charlotte Sound, Pelorus Sound, Kenepuru Sound, and around the legendary D’Urville Island. This coastal sailing expedition is the perfect blend of wind-powered exploration, hands-on sailing, and serene anchorages—offering a uniquely immersive way to experience the beauty of the Marlborough Sounds.
Departing from Picton Marina, we’ll harness the wind as we navigate through a maze of lush headlands, quiet coves, and sheltered waterways, discovering new anchorages each day. The region’s intricate coastline and reliable breezes provide ideal conditions for both experienced sailors and those new to life under sail.
As we tack and gybe our way through the Sounds, there’s time to swim in turquoise bays, snorkel over kelp beds, paddle ashore for bushwalks, or simply relax on deck as the scenery unfolds. We’ll sail through the thrilling Te Aumiti/French Pass, where fast-moving tidal currents and whirlpools demand skill and teamwork, before exploring the remote beauty of D’Urville Island, known for its rugged wilderness and rich Māori history.
Each evening, we’ll drop anchor in a sheltered bay and enjoy hearty dinners on board, paired with local wine and sunset views. Whether you're at the helm or unwinding on deck, this is coastal New Zealand at its finest—wild, peaceful, and deeply rewarding under sail.
