Opua to Kermadecs, Minerva Reefs to Fiji | sailing Expedition

15 Nights | 1,400nm | join the crew | from NZD$8,250

Embark on a ocean adventure, sailing from Opua, New Zealand, to Fiji, with stopovers at the remote Kermadec Islands and the stunning Minerva Reefs. This true adventurer’s expedition offers an unmatched opportunity to explore some of the most untouched maritime environments in the South Pacific.

Departing from Opua in the Bay of Islands, we set sail northeast toward the Kermadec Islands, New Zealand’s northernmost outpost. These uninhabited volcanic islands have served as stopovers for seafarers since the 10th century. Raoul Island, the largest in the chain, is surrounded by dramatic cliffs and thriving marine life, making for an awe-inspiring passage. Continuing north, we reach the Minerva Reefs, a pair of submerged atolls steeped in maritime history, where shipwreck remnants can still be seen. Anchored inside the lagoon, we’ll snorkel among thriving coral reefs and dive for fresh crayfish at night, making for an unforgettable stopover.

Our final 420nm passage to Vuda Marina, Fiji, takes us into warm tropical waters, where we transition from open-ocean sailing to idyllic island cruising. Arriving in Fiji, the lush coastline and warm hospitality are the perfect reward for an epic passage. This expedition is ideal for sailors and adventurers seeking a challenging yet rewarding blue-water experience, blending offshore endurance with unique stopovers in some of the most remote and spectacular locations in the Pacific.
